We had no other choice, but to make a living for ourselves which has inspired my siblings and I. I live my life by one rule, no excuses. My parents took the biggest risk of their lives by coming to a different country not knowing the native language or having the proper education to find a job, they only had one desire -- to better their lives for themselves and their kids. So, you can somewhat understand why I can't make any excuses for why I can't do the same.""How I got into fitness, it all started in high school. I wrestled for all four years moving up in weight classes. At first I told myself mentally my body cannot do this and I cannot keep up with everyone. I remember I collapsed during practice because all the energy was gone from my body. I felt the urge to give up and wanted to tell my coach, I quit. I found myself around a group of motivated, kind-hearted and determined individuals who did not want to see me quit. They picked me up and told me, I came this far and how most people haven't -- they truly believed in me and pushed me through it. I saw how hard-working and determined everyone was and I was not going to let my team down. Wrestling in high school went by so quick, I grew to know everyone and we became a family understanding everyone's strengths and weaknesses. We helped each other improve everyday because wrestling is not an individual sport, you can win a match but it's a team effort to win every weight division. I began to understand that it was not a competition between us, it was a competition between ourselves to better ourselves each day. I took what I learned from wrestling and working in hospitality and incorporated into a business.""I always dreamed about bringing together a community of people who enjoy and share the same passion for fitness, to help motivate, inspire, and encourage others. We strive to better not only ourselves but those around us. I hoped to one day to start a fitness apparel company, to eventually opening a gym and become world-renowned in the fitness community with the idea that people around the world can travel and visit our gym.""I first thought of fitness as being universal, I thought of a name that would target everyone. I realized everyone who's into fitness requires you to lift at one point. I also told myself if you're working out and want to see progress, you cannot do it alone. You will need a team or squad to help you, I then put the two ideas together to form "Lift Squad" with our brand slogan "Never lift alone". I told myself fitness can go in so many directions; not just bodybuilding or physique, you also have calisthenics, powerlifting, action sports, etc. I want our brand to cater to all areas of fitness. I took the biggest leap of faith this year and the rest is history."
